Rev Joseph Gilbert - Activist 

Rev Joseph led quite a colorful life - and worked to change those things with which he disagreed.  Did you know:

• He was sentenced to, and served, two years in prison for writing love letters to another man (not graphic or explicit). The post office declared them obscene and it is a federal crime to send obscene materials through the US mail.

• He was instrumental in getting the lights on the California Capitol building to be green for St Patrick's Day.
